Cultural anthropologist, ethnographer, and editor

Dr. Melissa K. Wrapp is a cultural anthropologist and ethnographer with more than ten years’ experience studying design, technology, and politics. Her research explores themes of racial economic inequality, urban life, and experimentation with democratic practices in South Africa and the United States. She has previously worked as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Irvine, where she received her PhD in Anthropology in 2021. She also holds degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Notre Dame.

Wrapp is passionate about the craft of writing. She holds a certificate in editing from the University of Chicago and is available for freelance copyediting and development editing projects.

In her free time, Melissa can be found experimenting in the kitchen, tending to her houseplants, and going on adventures with her dog, Ayton.
